The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Blue class have enjoyed doing activities based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar story. We have used the fruit in our number work by counting how many the caterpillar ate and looking at what numbers come before or next. We have been making and copying letter patterns, categorising by size and colour and practising days of the week. We have had lots of fun in art painting pictures of the food and decorating butterfly pictures.

Chinese New Year

As part of celebrating Chinese New Year, Blue class had lots of fun in messy play exploring noodles, rice and sweet and sour sauce. We tasted the sauce and made fortune cookies. We also did some fun art activities making paper lanterns using Chinese symbols. In music we listened to Chinese music and played some gongs and drums. It was fantastic to see parents participating during open week, including when we dressed up in Chinese kimonos.
